MARC Community

The MARC Community is a one-of-a-kind, online community for men committed to gender equality in the workplace. MARC gives men, in partnership with women, a place to ask questions, learn from each other, challenge outdated thinking, and find actionable steps to help them stand up as fearless role models for inclusion.

The focus of the MARC community is:

  • Awareness-building to support long-term interest and learning.
  • Eliminating common barriers to participation for men through community support.
  • Offering access to blogs and info from business leaders, researchers, and other experts.
  • Weekly content on leadership, unconscious bias, masculinity, workplace equality, and more.

Features of the MARC Community
MARC provides a number of ways for members to engage, including:

The MARC Blog. Featuring commentary by and for men who want to make a difference, the MARC Blog tackles tough questions. What does it mean to be a man at work and in society? In what ways does male culture affect both men and women? What can men to do to support change that benefits everyone? MARC bloggers tackle topics like these—and more. Learn more about writing for MARC.

MARC Social. MARC Social is a forum where members can introduce themselves, develop new partnerships, ask difficult questions, or collaborate towards solutions.

MARC Library. The MARC Library is a pool of gender equity links from the web that are relevant to men. Compiled by MARC's admins, the MARC Library is a convenient way to stay current with the latest news and views and broaden your awareness on a variety of topics.

Monthly Themes. Every month on MARC, we feature a theme that unites our content across the Blog, Social, and the Library. Monthly themes drive problem-solving and critical dialogue around a central topic, such as mentoring and sponsoring, race and ethnicity, or unconscious bias. Features of the monthly theme include discussion starters, polls, and actions of the month.

MARC-to-Go. Our weekly newsletter keeps members up-to-date on the latest from the Blog, Social, and the Library. We host the most recent edition of MARC-to-Go on our site.

For Individuals
Join the MARC Community and commit to:

  • Keep up with the latest Blog posts and MARC Library entries.
  • Introduce yourself in Social and share your perspective with colleagues from around the globe.
  • Check out our upcoming events for MARC Leaders workshops, webinars, and other opportunities.
  • Use our tools featuring actions items for men and for women.
  • Start a MARC discussion group at your workplace. Use our monthly themes to inspire the agenda for each meeting.
For Organizations
Companies are invited to:

  • Draft senior leader guest blog posts to role model inclusive leadership and signal your organization’s commitment to diversity. Here's an example.
  • Share MARC content via your internal diversity newsletters and intranet.
  • Pursue a formal roll-out. Hand-select a diverse group of men, invite them to join MARC, and ask them what they are learning.
  • Form discussion groups. Use MARC content, such as MARC's monthly themes, to establish informal learning groups or facilitate brown bag discussions (contact us for support). MARC resources can also be shared among existing ERGs.

Did You Know?

Research shows that when men are actively involved in gender diversity, 96% of companies report progress. When they're not, only 30% show progress.

We can help. Check out our programming, resources, and events. Join our community or email us to learn more.
