Memory is connected to the sense of smell. Perfumes are thus pretty powerful and most smells make people feel good.

When it comes to perfumes there is a thing called choosing the right perfume which one’s nose likes the most. But picking it up can be a bit confusing because one cannot find their signature scent faster. But before picking up a perfume, one has to be aware about the heart, top and base notes as perfume ingredients. Each note has a different purpose to serve and it hugely affects how a perfume smells when one wears it.

Head note of a perfume is the opening note which one can get to smell when they first spray a perfume. They are mainly lightweight notes and they linger only for 10 to 15 minutes before they fade away. Once they fade away the other notes start to dominate. Though the top notes disappear quickly they do play an important role in determining whether one likes the perfume or not. There are some common top notes:

Citrus

Lemon, orange zest and bergamot

Light floral

Lavender and rose

Herbs

Clary sage, basil and anise

The heart note is also known as the middle note perfumes and they start to come through when the top notes mostly evaporate. Their job is to hold on to the aroma of the perfume. Heart notes make almost 70 percent of the most fragrance and one can smell them if they are wearing the perfume the whole time. Some of the most popular heart notes are geranium, jasmine, lavender, ylang- ylang, cardamom, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Base notes are the final fragrance notes that appear when the top notes evaporate completely. They can sink into the skin for hours. These base notes are heavier and richer scents and they mostly kick in after half an hour of perfume application. The base notes are the ones which become a memorable smell because they dry out of the skin. Most common base note perfumes are amber, vanilla, musk, patchouli, cedar wood, sandalwood and some more.

Once one becomes aware of the fragrance notes they can figure out which scent will appeal one and which not. One should not think too much when they are buying perfumes. It is better to pick ones which can make one feel good. If one loves the smells of lime, lemons and oranges then citrusy perfumes are suited for them. The fresh fragrances are the lightweight ones and it gives one a basic smell without overpowering anything. If one is attracted to floral scents then they include smells of peonies, lavender, rose, gardenia, lilies and more. In case of fruity notes, one can make choices from smells like blackberry and strawberry notes. Musky and vanilla perfumes are also great because they stay for longer. Apart from them there are spicy and woody scents as well that one can choose.

One can look for the varieties of Giorgio Armani perfumes that are available online and choose one that suits them the most.
