Mumbai is often called”the “City of Dreams,” is the capital city of Mumbai, which is located in the Indian state Maharashtra and has several dry days every year.

These days the selling of alcohol is prohibited legally. These days usually coincide with the religious and national holidays as well as certain events that are restricted to the government.

Dry days are of importance for religion and culture in the country, as they allow people to enjoy national holidays and religious festivals with respect and a sense of seriousness.

In addition this time, the goal is to promote responsible drinking and aid in reducing alcohol-related issues within the society.

The year 2025 will be the one in which Mumbai is set to have only 25 days of dry weather during which selling alcohol is prohibited within Mumbai. For special occasions like Gandhi Jayanti, Republic Day or Independence Day, dry days will be observed across the country.

However, for occasions such as Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti and Ganesh Chaturthi, dry day rules will only apply to Mumbai as well as the State of Maharashtra.
