Does Wednesday Have Eugene’s Death?
Eugene doesn’t die, that’s for sure.
Throughout the series, Wednesday Addams’ parents, Morticia and Gomez Addams, enroll her in a new and eerie school, aiming to give her education a deeper significance. Reluctantly, Wednesday attends the school, where she encounters a diverse group of eccentric outcasts.
In one particular episode titled “You Reap What You Woe” (Episode 5), Eugene, a character in the story, faces a dramatic situation. While Wednesday arrives too late to shield him from a monster attack, he falls unconscious. However, in Episode 8, titled “Reunion in Shadows,” Eugene awakens from his coma, and he and Wednesday are reunited.
Eugene, portrayed by Moose Mostafa, a talented young British actor known for his previous appearance in Netflix’s “The Last Bus,” provides crucial information to Wednesday upon waking up. With the help of her classmates, Wednesday tackles the school’s riddles and takes on the challenge of exterminating the monster.
The series “Wednesday” is a coming-of-age fantasy mystery created for Netflix by Tim Burton, Alfred Gough, and Miles Millar. It draws inspiration from the works of American cartoonist Charles Addams. Narrated by Jenna Ortega, the show follows Wednesday Addams as her parents decide to enroll her in Nevermore Academy after traditional schooling fails to suit her needs. Interestingly, both Morticia and Gomez had attended this boarding school in their younger years.
At Nevermore Academy, the students, along with most of the teachers, are outcasts possessing unique abilities that set them apart from the mainstream or “normies.” Even among these outcasts, Wednesday manages to stand out, much to the dismay of the school’s principal, Larissa Weems, portrayed by Gwendoline Christie, who disapproves of her behavior.
Being a budding author, Wednesday finds herself entangled in a gruesome monster mystery and learns of a prophecy that predicts the school’s destruction by her hand. In the second episode, “Woe is the Loneliest Number,” Wednesday joins Eugene’s beekeeping team. As the show revolves around monsters, viewers might have wondered if Eugene met his demise at the hands of a creature, but rest assured, he did not.
