3.   River Legacy Park

This oasis by the Trinity River offers families the opportunity to engage with nature, away from the more urban areas of Arlington. The ecologically-diverse park spans 1,300 acres and includes amenities such as eight miles of paved hiking and biking trails, a ten-mile mountain bike trail, picnic areas, restrooms, playgrounds, an exercise station, and canoe launch areas. A delightful mix of wetlands, prairies, and forests, parents will have a great chance to build magical memories with their kids at this glorious park.

4.   Planetarium at the University of Texas at Arlington

Regarded as a one-of-a-kind teaching, learning, and special event space, the planetarium is one of the three largest in the state of Texas. It has a 60-ft dome projection surface, digital projection system, and offers “unparalleled views of the night sky, the solar system, stars, and distant galaxies—complemented with Dolby® surround sound.” The theatre is wheelchair-accessible and offers radio headsets for the hearing-impaired, so this is a great option for children with hearing impairment or mobility issues.

5.   K1 Speed

If you’re a fan of indoor go-karts, K1 Speed is a racing center that can be found directly across from Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. The center includes a professionally-designed track, all-electric go-karts designed in Europe with attention to precision and efficiency, and a hybrid lobby/motorsport museum.
